Rolla Martin, a veteran of the Civil War, died at his home in Waynetown Sunday evening after a long illness. He had been an invalid for 10 or 12 years.  He formerly lived here and was well known by a number of the older citizens. He leaves a wife and an adopted child.  He was a member of McPherson Post NO 7, GAR of this city.  He was also an original member of the famous Montgomery Guards, having joined the first company organized here by Gen. Lew Wallace.

Although an Indiana man Mr. Martin joined a NY regiment. The funeral will occur at Waynetown on Tuesday at 10 o'clock and will be conducted under the auspices of McPherson post of this city. A number of the members will go down from here over the Big Four at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning. - kz
