Riley Morris Martin, age 73, Covington Rt. 3, well-known retired farmer and life-resident of the Covington community, died at 6:50 a. m. today, Dec. 6, at Lakeview Memorial Hospital, Danville, where he had been a patient about a week. He was born in Troy Township, Fountain County, March 16, 1888, the son of John Samuel and Tursey Jane Alkire. He was married in 1914 to Lulu Zeigler, who preceded him in death in 1956. In March, 1961, he was married to Zelma Teegarden Price, who survives. He had spent his entire life in the Covington community and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Salem Methodist Church, northeast of Covington. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: two brothers, Edward Martin of Indianapolis, and Jacob Martin of Covington Rt. 3; one sister, Mrs. Charles (Virgie) Trott, Veedersburg Rt. 2; three step-children; 10 step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon (EST) at the Salem Methodist Church. The Rev. Dale Owen will officiate and burial, with Bodine & Shelby in charge, will be in Mt.
