Edward C. Martin, 68, 1206 W. Main St., died at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday in Culver Hospital. He had been seriously ill since Sunday. Mr. Martin was employed by R. R. Donnelley & Sons Co., 33 years as a book-binder. He retired in 1960. He was employed at the firm’s Chicago plant before coming here in 1942. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and Eagles Lode. Born Oct. 16, 1894 at Bloomington, Ill, he was the son of Clarence and Hannah Welch Martin. He was married Aug. 27, 1943 to Helen Northcutt Pearson. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Janet Sue Wright of Crawfordsville; and three sisters, Mrs. Fred Foehringer of Streator, Ill., Mrs. Florence Webb and Mrs. Peter Orphan, both of Chicago. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church with Rev. Henry F. Ward officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday.
