Doris Martin, 95, Greencastle, died at 7:30 p.m. Friday (March 5) in her home. She was a registered nurse in Culver Union Hospital.  Mrs. Martin served in the Army, 1st Lt, during World War II in the European theater.  She graduated from North Salem HS and Christian Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis.  Her memberships include the Liston (sic) United Methodist Church, the Omega Chapter of Delta Sigma Kappa Sorority, Culver Hospital Auxiliary, American Legion 72 and Athen Chapter 97 Order of Eastern Star.

She was born March 1, 1904 at Lizton to Omer and Effie Grover GOssett. She married John G. Utterback in 1951 he died in 1961. She married Orvil R. Martin in 1967. He died Dec 21, 1981.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Jewelene Lahr, Tawas City, Mich; five stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat grandchildren and four step great-great grandchildren.

A stepson, three brother and three sisters are deceased.  Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Indiana 25 S with the Rev. John Gossett officiating.  Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. - kbz
