Attica, Ind - May 8 - The many friends of Mrs. Carrie MARTIN were greatly grieved yesterday when a message came from her son Hugh, stating that she had died that morning from the effects of burns received while near an open grate on Wednesday. The message came to Dan C. Reed, who is a relative, and further stated the son would arrive with the body at 6:17 o'clock on Wednesday morning. The funeral will take place at 2:30 o'clock on Wed afternoon. The lady, who was the widow of David B. Martin, made her home in Attica for many years and was one of its most respected ladies. After her husband's death she went to live with her son Hugh, who had located in Kansas City as an attorney. Mrs. F.M. Pyle of Davis Twp and Mrs. Lizzie Cast of Florida, are sisters and Ed Young of Covington is a brother. She was the daughter of John Young, one of the early settlers of the county.- transcribed by kbz
