COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS) - Basil Martin, 60, of Covington, died at 10:55 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 15, 1974) at Lake View Memorial Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient three hours. He had been in failing health for some time. He had formerly worked as a truck driver and farm laborer. He was born Nov. 13, 1913, in Highland Township of Vermillion County, the son of Karnea and Mary E. Shelley Martin. Survivors include a son, Donald Lee of Frankfort; four sisters, Mrs. Berniece Talman of Kingman, Mrs. Marie Gouty of Covington, Mrs. Edith Summerlot of Newman, Ill. and Mrs. Mary Ellen Watson of Crawfordsville; three brothers, Henry, Robert L. and Richard, all of Covington Route 2:10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a sister and a brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Grover Williams will officiate, and burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be after 7 p.m. Saturday and after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. - jlr
