Marshall - Sarah Collins

Mrs. Sarah Marshall, who has been in poor health for a long time, fell at her home on Green St. on Thursday and soon died. Her head was slightly injured by the fall,, but it is not thought that this hastened her death. Funeral services were held on Saturday at the ME Church by Rev Cloyd Hershey. Interment in the new Cemetery. Miss Sarah A. S. Collins was born in Fleming Co, NY (KY? or Fleming, NY?) Oct 25, 1824. Her father moved to Waveland when she was a child, and she has lived here ever since. She married Cyrus Marshall about 1843. Eleven children were born: Leonard who died in 1846; Georgia Ann, who died the same year; Mrs. Joseph David of Mecca; Cyrus Marshall; Mrs. Emma English; William, deceased. Mrs. Frank Murray of Anderson; Mrs. George Moore, Charles who died in 1846; John Marshall; Minnie Marshall, who died in 1873. The husband died Feb 23, 1869. She was a member of the ME Church and in stronger days was active in its work. She was afflicted with cancer and for years endured great suffering with much patience.
