Marlatt - Pearl Lydia Martin

NEWTOWN - Mrs. Pearl L. Marlatt, 95, died 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, at Community Hospital where she had been a patient for several days. She had been in failing health for several years. A life resident of Richland Township, she was born March 25, 1874, the daughter of Amos and Hannah Palin Martin. She was married Feb. 25, 1891 to Newman Marlatt, who preceded her in death on April 12, 1932. She was a member of the Newtown Presbyterian Church, attended Attica elementary school and the Leighty School. She is survived by two sons, Merle and Encil, and a niece, Miss Dorothy Marlatt, all of near Newtown; four grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Peter Heemstra officiating. Burial was in the Newtown Cemetery. - jlr
