West Lebanon – Jeanette R. Reffett Machledt, 81, of West Lebanon, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday Dec 4, 2001 in Danville Ill Care Center South Clinic. She had been in failing health three years. Born Feb 10, 1920 in Danville, she lived in Hegler, Ill, Covington, Waveland had resided in West Lebanon since 1956. Her marriage was to William F. Machledt on Aug 20, 1944 in Waveland and he died in 1962. Mrs. Machledt was a 1937 Covington HS graduate and received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University in 1941. She was a teacher and guidance counselor for Waveland School District, West Lebanon School District and Seeger Memorial HS. She retired in 1985. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in West Lebanon where she was organist. She also was organist at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Marshfield. She was a member and past worthy matron of Waveland Order of Eastern Star, and member of Kappa Delta Pi sorority and Indiana State Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed antiques and playing the organ and piano at Eastern Star events. Surviving is a son, Fred Machledt of West Lebanon. - transcribed by kbz (Jeanette was such a lovely lady)
