Jesse James Marshall died in Crawfordsville on Friday evening.  Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church here on Sunday  afternoon by the Rev. Olin Stewart. Interment at Union Cemetery.  The following obituary was read: "Jesse James Marshall was a son  of Tobe and Susan Marshall, and was born at Waveland, Ind., July  13, 1884, where most of his life was spent and where his parents  now reside. Some ten years ago he moved to Crawfordsville to take  employment, and after being there two years was united in  marriage to Clara Walden, when they moved to Rockville and  resided there six years. Then they returned to Crawfordsville,  where they have since lived. Several months ago he fell victim to  the dread disease, tuberculosis, but with a brave fortitude kept  going to work as long as he possibly could. At the early age of  32 he was called from this earthly habitation, passing on on  August 18, 1916, leaving behind to mourn their loss, a wife, two  little girls, and a boy baby six months old, a father, mother,  five brothers, three sisters and a host of friends. He has been a  member of the Methodist Church at Waveland for many years and all  who have known him admire his courage, patience, and loving  disposition." Those present from a distance were: Mrs. Joseph  Davis, Mr. and Mrs. John Birch, Mr. and Mrs. B. Lawson, Mr. and  Mrs. Will Myers of Mecca, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Birch of  Hillsdale, Mrs. Hawker, Frank Kent, Jas. Morrow, Claude  Whitesell, Henry Squires, and James Myers, of Rockville, Mr. and  Mrs. Ott Marshall of Crawfordsville, Will Boggess and children of  Lebanon.
