Crawfordsville—Charles Maris, 65, who had been a state highway commission employee for many years, died in a hospital here today of injuries suffered Tuesday night while placing cinders on Highway 47 about 12 miles south of Crawfordsville near Brown’s Valley. Maris stepped from a truck driven by Virgil Pierce. The truck was still moving and Maris was run over by one of the wheels. He is survived by his widow and two sons, Felix and John P. Maris, both of Indianapolis. – thanks so much to “S”
