Max E. Lyons, 51, of 409 Russell Ave., died Wednesday morning in Veterans Hospital at Danville, Ill. He had been employed by California Pellett Mill and Plastene. Mr. Lyons had served in World War II and was a member of the American Legion, VFW of Crawfordsville and Moose. He was educated in Crawfordsville schools. Born Sept. 1, 1925, at Cherry Grove, he was a son of Clate and Pearl Thompson Lyons. Surviving are three brothers, Paul of Hammond, Floyd of Houston, Tex., and John of Crawfordsville; and five sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Shipman of Linden, Mrs. Mildred Lumbirt of Logansport, and Mrs. Marie Budd, Mrs. Ruth Tracy and Mrs. Dorothy Weddle of Crawfordsville. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Powers Funeral Home with the Rev. Herschell Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Mack K of P Cemetery. VFW will conduct military graveside rites.
