NEW RICHMOND — Claude W. Lyons, 67, lifelong resident of New Richmond, died at 5 a.m. Saturday at his home here. He had been ill the past eight years. Mr. Lyons was an auto mechanic all his adult life and operated his own business before he became ill. Born May 6, 1903, at New Richmond, he was the son of Wilbert and Maude D. Royer Lyons. They preceded him in death in 1967. He attended New Richmond schools. He was married Dec. 24, 1923, to Dema Rogers at Brazil. The widow survives. Also surviving are a son, Donald Lyons of Danville, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Bacon of Winter Haven, Fla.; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Arthur Lyons of Crawfordsville and Monroe Lyons of Rt. 6, Crawfordsville, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Muster of Riverside, Calif., and Mrs. Russell (Elsie) Harwood of Rt. 6, Crawfordsville. Mr. Lyons was also preceded in death by a brother and a son. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Helms Funeral Home in Linden. Rev. Dale Seslar will officiate. Burial will be in New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
