Services for Mildred L. Lumbirt, 60, 26 E. Linden Ave., will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the McCloskey-Hamilton-Gundrum Funeral Home. She died Monday at 1:45 p.m. at Memorial Hospital. Born in Crawfordsville, on Oct. 27, 1920, she was the daughter of Clate and Pearl Thompson Lyons. On April 3, 1948, in Logansport, she was married to Harry Michael, who preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 1961. On June 25, 1964, in Logansport, she was married to Carl E. Lumbirt, who survives. She was employed by the Essex Group Inc. for 42 years. A member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, she was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the RR Club. Surviving with the husband are one son, James R. Michael, Rt. 4, Monticello; three sisters, Marjorie Shipman, Linden, Ruth Tracey, and Dorothy Weddell, both of Crawfordsville; and three brothers, John Lyons, Crawfordsville, Paul Lyons, Hammond, and Floyd Lyons, Texas. One sister and one brother preceded her in death. Father James Goodrum will officiate at the service. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Cancer Society.
