LADOGA – Daniel J. Lucas, 82, of Rt. 2, Ladoga, died Thursday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. Mr. Lucas was a member of Ladoga Christian Church. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of World War I Barracks. He was born in Brown County on Feb. 20, 1894, a son of Elijah and Sabra Hawkins Lucas. He was married to Katie Mae Cates on May 17, 1919, at Williamsport. He had lived in the Ladoga area since 1955 and was retired from farming. Surviving are two son, Manuel of Crawfordsville, and Paul of Danville; two daughters, Mrs. Katheryn Hetrick of Williamsport and Mrs. Jean Greenwood of Attica; a brother, Manuel C. of Decker; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, four brothers and six sisters. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Burkhart Funeral Home at Crawfordsville with the Rev. Bill Worrell officiating. Burial will be in Ladoga Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday. – jlr
