Mary Alice Lowe, 67, of 609 Illinois St., a retired railroad PBX operator died in her home Thursday evening. Mrs. Lowe was a PBX operator for the Monon Railroad at Lafayette for 25 years. Prior to that she worked for Indiana Bell Telephone Co. She was a resident of Lafayette for 40 years and moved to Crawfordsville with her husband eight years ago. She was a member of First Christian Church, BARC Royal Neighbors, Hope OES, White Shrine and Order of Amaranth and a life member of Delta Sigma Kappa at Lafayette. She was born Jan. 6, 1907 at Noblesville, a daughter of Eldrin F. and Josie McDonald Davis. She married Walter E. Lowe on May 25, 1926, at Danville, Ill. Surviving with the husband are two sisters, Mrs. Marcella Shelton of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Betty Ross of Lafayette, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with burial in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at 7-9 p.m. Thursday. – jlr
