Harrison A. Lowe, 73, a retired painter and Hydraulic Brick Co. employee, was fatally stricken Tuesday at his home at 1105 Mill St. He had been a member of the First Christian Church. A high school athlete, he played on the 1923 Crawfordsville High School basketball team that reached the state finals. Mr. Lowe was born on Oct. 2, 1902, a son of Fred and Fanny Zachary Lowe. He was first married to Evelyn Finch. He was then married to Verna M. Byerley, who survives. Other survivors are a son, Robert of Richmond, Va.; three daughters, Carolyn Chamberlain of Anderson, Rebecca Willbanks of Arlington, Va., and Lois Gross of Wingate; four brothers, Clarence and Lester of Crawfordsville, Earl of Ladoga and Frank of Longmont, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Ineta Harrison of Crawfordsville; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard F. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. – jlr
