Alfred B. Lowe, 64, a retired R. R. Donnelley and Sons employee died at 3 a.m. Wednesday in his home at 605 Illinois St. He retired Jan 1, 1972, after being employed 44 years as a bookbinder. Mr. Lowe was a long-time Ham radio-operator. He was a member of Montgomery Lodge 50, F&AM and Eastern Star. He was educated in Crawfordsville schools. He was born Oct 15, 1908 at Crawfordsville, a son of Emory and Ida Marcum Lowe. On June 28, 1930, he married Audria Sharp who survives. Also surviving are his mother of Crawfordsville; two sons, Alfred Theron of Boston, Mass. and Richard of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. Richard Huffman of Cleveland Heights, Ohio and Mrs. Dwight Wilhite of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Walter and Robert, both of Crawfordsville and Ora of Jacksonville, Fla; two sisters, Mrs. George Weliver and Mrs. Doretha Beach both of Crawfordsville and three grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m Friday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home, with Robert Pershy officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday. Masonic services will be conducted in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Thursday. -- kbz
