Hillsboro - Walter F. Long, 73, prominent Hillsboro farmer, died Monday at 11 p.m. in the home where he was born and spent his entire life, southeast of Hillsboro. Death followed a heart attack. One of a family of 8 children, Mr. Long was born Feb 17, 1884, the son of John W. and Eliza Jane Booe Long. He was married twice, first to Chloie E. Clodfelder, who died in 1940. They were married May 4, 1904. His second marriage was on November 20, 1941 to Ruby F. Keeling, who survives. Mr. Long was a member of the Hillsboro Methodist Church and men's chorus of the church. He also was a township chairman for Fountain County Farm Bureau and officer in the AAA. Surviving besides the widow, are 3 daughters, Mrs. Carmen Utterback of Ft. Wayne, Miss Gretchen Long of Cincinnati, Ohio and Mrs. Edith Ellen Foxworthy of Hillsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Debby Myer of Hillsboro and Mrs. Josephine Cooper of Indianapolis; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
