Long - Stella Sutherlin

LADOGA ~ Stella Viola Long, 74, died Monday at 5 a.m. in the Putnam County Hospital at Greencastle. She had been a patient there for the past three weeks. She was born June 24, 1895, the daughter of J. Samuel and Lucy Shackleford Sutherlin, and was married to George B. Long Jan. 30, 1916, near Roachdale. He preceeded her in death in June 1964. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Barnard, Eastern Star of Ladoga and the Haw Creek Get Together Club. Survivors include three sons, George R. Long of Charlottesville, Va., Richard W. Long of Lafayette and William M. Long of Indianapolis; three daughters, Mrs. Curt Palmer of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Lewis Wright of Ladoga and Mrs. Frank Waldon of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Virgil Sutherlin of Roachdale and Talbot Sutherlin of Ladoga; a sister, Mrs. William White of Ladoga, and seven grandchildren. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gephart Funeral Home in Ladoga with burial in the Ladoga Cemetery. Rev. Ray Britton of Roachdale will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. - jlr
