Hugh Long, a veteran of the Civil War, aged 85, died of a complication of diseases, yesterday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Minta Hartz. The deceased had spent a long and honorable life in this county and was highly respected by those who knew him. The deceased was survived by four sons, Dan Long of Darlington; William Long of Shannondale; Wood Long of Ringwood, Oklahoma and Paul Long of Nebraska and two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Hayden of Lafayette, Ind and Mrs. Minta Martz with whom he has been making his h ome. No definitely arrangements have been made for the funeral. – kbz
