WAYNETOWN – Alice May Long, 44, a resident of Green Acres Motel at Lafayette, died Tuesday morning in University Medical Center of Indianapolis due to complications after open-heart surgery. Mrs. Long had been a resident of Waveland and attended Crawfordsville High School. She had lived in Lafayette for the past 18 years. Born Sept. 6, 1931, at Waynetown, she was the daughter of Virgil and Sylvia Cummings Harboldt. She married Roy Long on Sept. 10, 1949, in Crawfordsville. She is survived by her husband; a son, Larry Eugene of Lafayette; four daughters, Mrs. Sharon DeBoy, Mrs. Wanda Gray, Lois and Brenda Long, all of Lafayette; two brothers, Jack Harboldt of Waveland and Vernon Harboldt of Crawfordsville; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard. Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Richard Baker officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. – jlr
