William A. Lunsford died at his home on the Garland farm at 9 on Monday Morning. He had been sick for some time with pneumonia. Funeral services at Freedom Church were conducted by Rev. Jno. Cauldwell. Services at the grave were in charge of the Masonic fraternity. Mr. Lunsford was born in Boone County, Nov 19, 1860.
In 1885 he married Miss Alice Dickerson of Jolietville who survives him. He was a member of the United Brethren Church and Masonic Lodge. Those from a distance attending the funeral were: Mrs. Mary Ditzenberger of Jolietville; Mrs. Ada Vermillion of Anderson; Earl Wort of Tipton and Cleveland Carr and Henry Smith of Whitestown. - typed by kbz

Waveland Jan 18 – William Lunsford, 55 years old, a resident of this place for many years, died at his home near here this morning after an illness of three weeks caused by pneumonia and leakage of the heart. Mr. Lunsford was born Nov 19, 1860 in Whitestown Ind and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lunsford. He was married to Miss Alice Dickerson of Jolietville March 12, 1885. He was a prosperous farmer and highly respected. His last home has been on the Garland farm north of this place. He is survived by his widow. There were no children born to the couple. Besides his wife three sisters and a brother remain to mourn his death. The sisters are Mrs. Ditzenberger of Jolietville, Mrs. Carr of Northfield and Mrs. Lawson of Tipton. The brother, Robert, lives at Butler. Funeral services will be held at Freedom Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. Caldwell will conduct the services. Burial will be at Freedom Cemetery.
