Sarah M. Lowe, one of the pioneers of Parke county, died at the home of h er daughter, Mrs. James W. Van Sickle, 922 Stilwell street, yesterday. S he was sixty-seven years of age. Mrs. Lowe had lived here several years c oming here from her home town Milligan, Ind. Undertakers Johnson, Hussl er & George took charge of the body and shipped it to Milligan Friday morn ing, where the burial took place. Mrs. Lowe was a sister of the la te W. T. Brush, of this city. She was twice married. Her first husband w as Dr. Steele, sr., father of Dr. William Steele of Waveland. She liv ed in Waveland for a number of years, but after Dr. Steele®s death sever al years ago she again married and has since lived in Indianapolis. - than ks to Sue P. for this one - helped me fill out some info too :) kbz

As mentioned last week, Mrs. Sarah M. Low (sic - Lowe) died at her home in Indianapolis, after an illness of a few hours following a congestive chill. The funeral services at the home of Prof. H.S. Kritz were conducted by Dr. W.F. Gibson. Interment in Presbyterian Cemetery. Sarah M. Brrush was born in this county, Dec. 12, 1837. Her first husband was Dr. A.T. (Thomas Armstrong) Steele, who died in June (sic - 13 April 1884) 1884. To them were born four children: William now dead; Mrs. Ella Miller of Chicago; Mrs. Anna Johnson and Mrs. Hattie VanSickle of Indianapolis. About ten years ago, she married James Low who died three years ago since which time she has made her home with Mrs. VanSickle. Mrs. Low lived most of her life in Waveland. She was a member of the Presbytrian Church. - kbz
