George W. Lough died at his home in the Wapello neighborhood on Tuesday morning, following a stroke of paralysis a few days before. Funeral services were held at the home on Wed. afternoon. Interment at the Bethany Cemetery. Mr. Lough was the son of Jacob B and Delila Stallcup Lough and was born in Cumberland Co, Ky 1839. He came to this section with his parents when he was about four years old. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Lough and 8 children: Omer, Eugene and Darwin Lough; Mrs. Alice Pearson; Miss Oda Lough; Mrs. Emma Morgan; Mrs. Lee Rusk and Mrs. Avis Ginn. Also by a half brother, Perry j. Lough and a sister Mrs. W. Kerr, both of Crawfordsville. Mr. Lough was a well known figure upon our streets, always cheerful and ready to give or take a joke. Of late years his health has been poor but he never let that depresss him. He was a member of the Christian Church. - kbz

George W. Lough son of Jacob B. and Roxanna (Stalcup) Lough, was born Nov 22, 1939; died Nov 18, 1919, wanting of four days being 80 year. He was married in August 1867 to Rachel A. Lough. To this union there were born 10 children: five girls and five boys, Marion, Aaron E, Alice, Darwin, Eugene, Omer. Viola, Emma, Leva and Avis, all living except the two oldest boys, Marion dying in infancy and Aaron in his 35th year. All the children are present except Avis, whose home is in Texas. He united wtih the Christian Church at Waveland about 35 years ago. When the Church was organized at Marshall he identified himself with that congregation and later became one of the charter members and officers of the Christian Church at Byron, where his membership remained until death. When the Civil War came on he enlisted at the age of 21 in the 21st In Reg. and served his country for 3 years and a half. Besides the wife, he leaves the 8 children named, one half sisiter and one half brother, Mrs. Elva Kerr and PJ Lough. There are also four granddaughters, Elizabeth Rachel and Nina Gene Rusk, Naomi Morgan and Margery Anna Linn. Funeral was conducted at the home of Revs. WH Kerr and Perry Lough at 2 p.m., Wednesday.  Burial at Bethany. - kbz
