Ladoga, May 18- Joseph H. Long Dies at Ladoga-Retired Farmer had been in Failing Health for Several Years-
Ladoga, May 18- Joseph Henry Long died Monday night at 6 o'clock
at his home here. Serious illness for the last ten days, brought
on by failing health the past several years, resulted in death.
Mr. Long was born in Virginia, March 22, 1862, the son of Wilburn
and Jane Haines Long. He married Miss Lucy Conkright in Mt.
Sterling, KY. A retired farmer he had lived in the Ladoga
community for the past fourty years. The first wife died several
years ago and in June, 1924, he married Alice Sperry of Ladoga
Mr. Long was a member of the Ladoga Christian Church. Surviving
besides the widow, are nine children, Wilburn, Harry, Isham, and
Harvey of Ladoga, and Samuel of Lansign, Mich.; Mrs. Dorothy Weir
of Linnsburg, Mrs. Mary Moore of Dalesville, Mrs. James Gifford
of Richmond, and Mrs. George Hall of Detroit, Mich.; three
sisters, fifty- five grandchildren, and a large number of nieces
and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the Ladoga
Christian Church at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Burial will be
made in the Ladoga Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the
church for one hour previous to the main services. Friends may
call at the home on Wednesday or Thursday.
