Livings - Will

George Livings received a telegram on Monday evening from Chicago, saying that his brother Will had been killed at Engelwood, a suburb of that place, on Monday. The telegram gae no particulars but as he had been building interlocak switches, it supposed that it was while at this work he was killed. He was well-known and liked here. Mr. George Livings went to Chicago on Tuesday. -- kbz

We learn from George Livings that his brother was putting in an interlocking switch at the time he was killed. He was working on track No 4. An engine back up, as he thought on track No 4 so he took his tools and stepped on No 3, on which the engine was. He had a heavy cap and had his back to the engine and so did not hear it. The engineer was on the opposite side and didn't see him. The fireman signalled him but before he could stop, 3 wheels of the tender passed over Livings' body, killing him instantly. He leaves a wife and 3 children. -- kbz
