Liter - Elizabeth Norman

Mrs. Mart Liter died Wed. night at 10:30 o'clock at her home 3 miles SW of the city. She has been in poor health for several years, but had been dangerously ill for only 10 days. The funeral will occur at the home this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Dr. Tharp conducting the service. The interment will be at the Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Liter's maiden name was Elizabeth Norman and she was born in Henry County, Kentucky 64 years ago. Forty years ago this spring she came to Indiana and was married on Aug 26, 1867 to Mr. Liter who with one daughter, Mrs. John Beal (?) survives her. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Emily Sanford, of Mace. Mrs. Liter was a devout member of the Christian Church of this city and was a woman of many excellent traits of character. In the work of the W.R.C. she was quite prominent and will be sadly missed. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in their affliction. The pallbearers for the funeral are Aaron Nutt; Capt. Elmore; JW Clemson; Henry Wasson; John Larrick and Web Talbot. - typed by kbz
