Mellott - Mrs. Alma Linville 85 of Rt 3, Veedersburg died Thursday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Ill. A life resident of the Mellott area she had been a school teacher in her earlier life. She was a member of Mellott United Church of Christ and had served as a Sunday School teacher there for several years. Mrs. Linville was a graduate of Mellott HS and had attended Terre Haute Teachers College. She was born Aug 27, 1894 in Moral, a daughter of Henry B and Lula Fry Fretz. She married April 7, 1920 to John Z. Linville of Wingate. He survives. Also surviving are a son, John Charles Linville of Covington; a daughter, Mrs. Chester (Martha) Galloway of Rt 3, Veedersburg; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Howard of Louisville; five grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Thomas Funeral Home, Waynetown, with Rev Robert Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
