Mrs. Marie Miller Linn, wife of Walter H. Linn, 70, local attorney, died at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday following an extended illness. Death occurred at the Carle Memorial Hospital, Champaign, Ill., where she had been a patient for the past several months. Mrs. Linn was born at Mulberry, Ind., on Dec. 17, 1892, the daughter of William Perry and Emma Louise Miller. She was graduated from Mulberry High School in 1911 and from Miami University in 1917, majoring in home economics. She stared her teaching career at Comer, Ohio, after which she returned to Burlington, Ind., where she taught for 24 years. She was an outstanding teacher in the field of home economics. She was given the Award of Honor for outstanding leadership by 4-H clubs in 1940. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star 453 and the Methodist Episcopal Church at Burlington. She was married on Aug. 29, 1937, to Walter H. Linn and moved to Crawfordsville in 1942 where she again took up her teaching. She taught two years at Linden and three years at Waynetown. Survivors include the husband; a brother, Norvan Dale Miller of West Lafayette; a sister, Pauline M. Fulton of Chandler, Ariz., and five nephews and two nieces. Funeral will be held at Hunt & Son Funeral Home at 4 p.m. Friday. Rev. Goddard Sherman will be in charge. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 pm. Thursday.
