John W. LINN, 92, father of Walter H. Linn, local attorney and one of Crawfordsville's oldest residents died Friday afternoon at his home 611 E. Wabash Ave. He had been in failing health several years and seriously ill since May 7 when he suffered a heart attack. Born Sept 4, 1853 at the old Linn homestead N. of Mace, he was the son of Harrison & Eliza Linn. He married Mary A. Martin who died April 3, 1941 at the age of 87. He was the last of 9 chldren and had devoted most of his life to farming. Mr. Linn spent his boyhood at the family home, later moving to a farm, east of Mace where he resided until 1906 when he came to Crawfordsville. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving besides the son in this city are two sons: Bert M of Mace and Charles W of New Ross, a daughter Laila Linn of Chicago, 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Nellie E. Mange also preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the residence with the Rev. Guy Tremaine of Waynetown the officiating minister. Burial will be at Mace K of P cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the home after 2 p.m. Saturday
