Cooper Chapel, Sept 21 - Perry the 9-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Milt Lindley was perhaps fatally injured Monday when he fell from a wagon load of gravel and the wagon passed over his head and body. The injured lad with his father and brothr were hauling gravel and when Mr. Lindley started to drive from the pit, Perry fell from the load. The wheel ran over his head, mashing it down into the gravel and then passed over his body. One rib was torn loose and three ribs broken, according to a Danville specialist who was called to attend the injured boy. His condition is reported critical.

Kingman - Perry E. Lindley, 65 of Kingman died at 4:20 p.m. Monday (Nov 1) in his residence. He was a carpenter at Suiter's Cabinet Shop at Covington. Mr. Lindley was a former member of the Millcreek Twp Advisory Board and Millcreek trustee from 1948-1952. He served two terms on the County Council from 1966-1974. He was a 1928 graduate of Kingman HS. Mr. Lindley was a graduate of DePauw University in 1932 where he was a Rector Scholar. He was a veteran of WWII. Born Dec 9, 1910, he was a son of Milton and Maggie Bonner Lindley. He married Nann Lyons May 10, 1941. He is survived by a brother, Pat of Kingman. Mr. Lindley was preceded in death by a sister. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Woodrow Funeral Home at Kingman with Rev. Larry McMillan and Rev. Mark Galligar officiating. Burial in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Perry E. Lindley, 65 of Kingman died unexpectedly at his home at 4:20 p.m. Monday Nov 1, 1976. Death was attributed to natural causes. He was born Dec 9 1910 the son of Milton and Maggie Boner Lindley. On May 10, 1941, he married Nan Lyons who survives. He was a 1928 graduate of Kingman HS and a Rector Scholar graduate of DePauw University in 1932. He was a veteran of WWII, a former member of the Fountain County council from 1966-1974. Mr. Lindley was the Mill Creek Township Trustee from 1948-1952. He was employed at Suiters Cabinet shop on Stringtown Road. Other survivors include a brother, Pat Lindley of Kingman RR 2. A sister preceded him in death. Services will be at 2 p.m .EST Thursday at the Woodrow Funeral Home. Burial will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.Wed at the funeral home.
Note: Perry's sister who is listed as preceding him in death above was Carol Iona Lindley born 17 February 1916 in Fountain County and died there 30 May 1932 (Death Record H-22 p 36)
