Lindley - Icy Pickard

TANGIER – Mrs. Icy Lindley, 99, one of Parke County’s oldest residents, died Saturday (March 15, 1969) at the Americana Nursing Home in Urbana. She had resided at the nursing home for about a year. Born Jan. 30, 1870, in Parke County, she was the daughter of John and Rosabell Wilkins Pickard. She was married on April 28, 1895, to Stephen Lindley, who preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1955. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, a daughter and two sisters. She was a former school teacher and was active in community affairs. She wrote poetry and was gifted in needlework. Survivors include seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Services are pending at the, Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman. – jlr
