Hillsboro, Oct. 20 - James M. Lighty, 81, a farmer and carpenter of near Hillsboro most of his life, died Saturday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Hullinger, southeast of here. He had been in failing health two months. Mr. Lighty married Mary Reta Neal, who died in December, 1945. Since then he had made his home with the daughter near Hillsboro. Surviving besides the daughter at whose home he passed away, are four sons, Delbert Lighty of Veedersburg, Archie Lighty of Hillsboro, Calvin Lighty of Attica and Virgil Lighty of Chicago, two daughters, Mrs. Cora Keller of Hebo, Ore., and Mrs. Elsie Rowland of Veedersburg, 32 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Smith of Hillsboro. A son, Russell Lighty, a World War I veteran, died ten years ago. Burial will be at Union cemetery near Newtown. Funeral arrangements, however are incomplete.
