Crawfordsville, Ind Jan 13 – While stooping to light a match with which to flag an interurban car, Frank E. Livengood, age 42, was fatally injured last night at Gregg’s crossing, six miles west of here on the Northwestern branch of the Terre Haute, Indianapolis & Eastern Traction Company. Mr. Livengood had been assistant cashier of the Elston National Bank of this city for the last 14 years. He and his wife had been visiting friends near the crossing and were on their way home when the accident occurred. The stop has no light and it is necessary for passengers at night to attract the attention of motormen with a light. Mr. Livengood had stopped to strike a match and evidently did not realize the car was so near him. Mrs. Livengood suffered a broken wrist when she grabbed her husband and endeavored to pull him back. Besides the widow, he is survived by his parents, one sister and one brother. Before entering the employ of the bank, Mr. Livengood was a telegrapher with the Big Four railroad. He was a member of the official board of the First Christian Church of this city. – kbz
