C.W. LINDLEY, Penn Township's sole survivor of the Civil War,   informs us that 70 years ago, Tuesday April 9, General Lee   surrendered to Gen. Grant at Appamatox Court House, Va about 70   miles SE of Richmond. At the time of Lee's surrender, Mr. Lindley   says that his company was on guard at Winchester, Va some 100   miles from the place; that Lee in a fine new uniform handed his   sword to Grant who was at the time attired in plain clothes.   Bloomingdale World.
