Darlington - Mrs. Stella Mae Lewis, 81, lifelong resident of the Darlington area died at her home here early Friday morning. She had been in poor health several years. Born west of Darlington Nov 8, 1888 she was the daughter of James and Joan Conrad Evans. She married Harley Lewis in 1906. He preceded her in death in 1957. She attended the Youngs Chapel School. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Shannondale Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Harold Wills and Mrs. Rufus Mullen; a brother, Orville Lewis; two sisters, Mrs. Almar Carter and Mrs. Effie Maxwell; 7 grandchildren; 13 great and two great great grandchildren. Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bright & Burkhart Funeral Home in Darlington. Rev. James R. Ebersole, pastor of the Darlington Congregational Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Darlington Odd Fellows Cem. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. - kbz
