Lewis - Herbert Kelso

Herbert Kelso Lewis, 77, 213 Poplar St., a resident of Crawfordsville for 47 years, died at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday in a private nursing home here. He was born Nov. 3, 1883, in Waveland. His parents were John and Mary R. Kelso Lewis. On March 27, 1907, he married Olive Moore in Waveland. He was educated in Waveland schools and was a farmer. After coming to Crawfordsville, he worked for the Crabbs Reynolds Feed Co. and was last employed with the Farm Bureau. He was a member of the Waveland Christian Church. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Robert A. Lewis and W. Gerald Lewis of Crawfordsville; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Mary R. Vaught; a grandson, Richard Vaught, and a brother, Clay Lewis. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Bright Funeral Home. Rev. C. H. Loveland will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Wednesday. – jlr
