Mrs. Esther Warner Lewis, 72, of Country Club Road, died Saturday afternoon in Culver Hospital. She was a native of Lawrence County, Illinois, born Dec. 17, 1894 to Wm. J. and Ada Ward Warner. She married Perry S. Lewis in Lawrence County on Aug. 14, 1920, and they moved to Crawfordsville in 1926 when he purchased the Ford agency. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the First Christian Church and for a number of years taught in its Sunday School. She also was a member of the Arts League and PEO and was active in the Girl Scouts, Red Cross and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Vincennes High School and Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Surviving are the husband; three sons, Perry W. of Frankfort and John E. and Gene of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Lewis Stoll of Madison, Wis., and 10 grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Funeral services are set for 2 pm. Tuesday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Revs. Paul Million and Howard Miller officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to give to the Heart Fund.
