David E. Lewis, 57, of 318 Spann Ave., died at 12:40 a.m. Sunday at Culver Hospital. Mr. Lewis was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and for the past seven years served as steward. He also was a member of the Moose Lodge. He was a former brickyard worker. For many years he was a union organizer. He also had been in the service station business. A native of Lincoln County, Kentucky, he was born Oct. 31, 1909, a son of James and Lizzie Brown Lewis. He was never married. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Harold Keller of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Henry McMeans of Indianapolis and Mrs. Earnest Dickson of Martin, Tenn. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Rev. John Servies officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today. – jlr
