Mrs. Amelia Lewis, mother of Mrs. A. S. Holbrook died at the residence of her daughter on Wednesday night at 10 o'clock, aged 77 years. Mrs. Lewis was born in Muskingum County Ohio August 14, 1808 was married April 26, 1826 and came to this city in 1842 where she has resided since. She was a member of the Methodist Church and was truly one of the mothers of the church. She leaves two children, Zeb Lewis of Jamestown and Mrs. A. S. Holbrook. Rev JW Green conducted the funeral services on Friday. Interment at Odd Fellows Cemetery. - kbz
