Waynetown, Feb 19 - Funeral services for Thomas Lewellen, whose sudden passing Monday (Feb 12, 1934) was a shock to this community were held at the Baptist Church Thursday afternoon after his body had lain in state an hour. IC Overman officiated. The Old Rugged Cross, memories of Galilee and Beautiful land were sung by a male quartette, William Bunnel, W.S. Merrell, Charles Ellis and William Combs with Mrs. John Mullen the accompanist. Flowers were carried by the granddaughters, the Mesdames Charles McClamroch, Jr. and Ernest Wilkinson of Crawfordsville, James Cannon and Frank of Chicago; Alvin Lewellen and MIss Winona Lewellen of Wayntown. Nine grandsons were casket beaers; Duane Lewellen, Chicago, George Maxwell, Austin Maxwell, Ernest WIlkinson, Irvie Wilkinson, Charles Wilkinson, Crawfordsville, Russell Smith, Alvin Lewellen and Arnold Lewellen, Waynetown. The burial took place in the Masonic Cemetery. Among the many out of town relatives and friends here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. James Lewellen, Mr. and Mrs. Burr Lewellen, Danville, Ill; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lewellen, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Lewellen, Chicago; Ray Zachary and Mrs. Anko Dykhuizen, Lafayette; Mrs. Harold Their, Akron, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Candy Lewellen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harve Lewellen, James Hamm, Mrs. Hattie Roach and son, Mrs. Lou Todd, Mrs. Frank Maxwell, Mr. and Mrs. George Maxwell, Mr. and Mrs. William Douglas, Mrs. Lou Snyder and Mr. Lewellen's daughter and their husbands, all of Crawfordsville. - kbz
