Linden - Paul R. Lewellen, 56, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Ben Hur Nursing Home at Crawfordsville where he had been a patient since July 29. He had been seriously ill since June 27. Born Jan 3, 1907 at Alamo, he was the son of Henry and Nannie Mathis Lewellen. He was married Oct 16, 1943 to Bertha Evans. They were married at Crawfordsville. Mr. Lewellen was educated in the Alamo school and was a member of the Alamo Christian Church, New Richmond Masonic Lodge and OES Lodge Low 12 Club of Wallace and York Rite of Lafayette. He farmed in the Wingate area. Surviving are his mother-in-law, Mrs. Eva Evans of Linden; an uncle, Lonnie Mathis of Florida and two cousins, Lutheran Mathis of Danville Il and Charles Mathis of Terre Haute. He was preceded in death by his wife who died last December. The body was taken to Servies Funeral Home at Waynetown. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev John Servies officiating. Masonic rites will be conducted at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Sat. Interment in Linden Cemetery. - kbz
