New Market - Mabel Clara Lewellen, 74 of Rt 3, Crawfordsville died in her home early today. Mrs. Lewellen was a member of New Market Baptist Church. She attended New Market School. She was born May 4, 1899 at New Market, a daughter of David and Lilly Mae Clark Wray. She married John Lewellen April 9, 1919. Surviving with the husband are 7 sons: Robert of Waveland; Harold of Crawfordsville; Eston of Elizabeth, KY; Kenneth of Lafayette; Harvey of Phoenix, Ariz; Byron of New Market; and Keith of Mellott; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Walker of Frederick, Md; Mrs. Norma Johnson and Mrs. Darlene Long of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Harley Wray of Crawfordsville and Russell Wray of Rt 3; 34 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Powers Funeral Home here with Rev. Creed Hampton officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. - kbz
