John "Tom" Lewellen, 50, 813 S. Grant Avenue died at 8 a.m. Sunday at his home. He had worked many years as a barber and retired from Super X Drugs in 1972 due to ill health. He graduated in 1952 from Wayentown HS. Mr. Lewellen was born at Waynetown March 29, 1934 a son of Edward and Mary West Lewellen. He was married on November 30, 1955 to Connie Toole. Survivors include his mother, Mary of Crawfordsville; three sons, Michael "Tom" of Darlington; Teddy Wayne of Crawfordsville and Duane at home; four brothers, Lewis of Waynetown; Gordon of rural Crawfordsville Robert of Crawfordsville and Clifford of Phoenix, AZ two sisters, Ruth Howard of Willard Ohio and Francis Ausenbaugh of Evansville and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father in 1970. Services at 10:30 am. Wednesday in the Thomas Funeral Home at Wyanetown with Rev. Michael Bebout officiating. Interment in Waynetown Masonic. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. The family requests that memorials be made in the form of a contribibution to the Juvenile Diabetic Fund at the funeral home. - kbz
