Lewellen - Joanna Westfall

Mrs. Joanna E. Lewellen 74 of Waynetown died early Saturday morning in the Ben Hur Nursing Home at Crawfordsville. She had been in failing health for several years and had been a resident of the nursing home since Sept 1968. Mrs. Lewellen was born Sept 5, 1895 near Waynetown to George "Jack" and Clare Gardner Westfall. She married Bryan (note from typist: Manning "Byron" Lewellen was her husband) Lewellen June 6 1918 in the Waynetown area. She lived all her life in the Waynetown area. She was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church and Friendly Circle Class of the church. She was educated in the Wingate schools. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Hillard of Indianapolis, a sister, Mrs. Nila Abbey of Florida; 3 brothers, Clarence Marion Westfall of Crawfordsville; Ora Westfall of Williamsport and Leslie Westfall of Indianpaolis, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in Aug 1963. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown Rev. Rob James will officiate. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. - kbz
