WAYNETOWN, Ind. — Mrs. Pearl Leonard, 77, of Yountsville, died at 11:15 p.m. Friday (Oct. 15, 1971) shortly after she was admitted to Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. Born March 6, 1894 in Washington County near Salem, she was the daughter of Charles and Hannah Smith Jewell. She was married on April 26, 1912 to Neal Leonard. She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church in Washington County, but had attended the Yountsville Community Church since 1922 where she belonged to the Ladies Aid and Home Demonstration Club. She had her education in Washington County and moved to the Yountsville community with her husband in 1915. Her husband survives as well as three sons, Carl E. and Harry E., both of Crawfordsville; Lloyd of Speedway City; three daughters, Mrs. Lillian Keller and Mrs. Mary M. Wiltermood, both of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Louise Hallett of near Yountsville; 22 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two stepsisters, Mrs. Rose Bir of Lafayette and Sister Mary Octavia of Peoria. She was preceded in death by an infant grandchild and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown, with the Rev. Forrest Stickler of Attica officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
