Retha Florence Lemon, of 310 N. Oak St., wife of a retired Crawfordsville fireman, died at 3:55 p.m. Friday in Ben Hur Nursing Home. Mrs. Lemon was a member of Milligan Memorial Presbyterian Church, VFW Auxiliary and charter member of Eagles Auxiliary. She was born June 24, 1899, at Waynetown, a daughter of Andrew and Orsie Grimes Hudson. She married Claude Lemon on Nov. 19, 1915. He served on the Crawfordsville Fire Department for many years. Surviving with the husband are two sons, Harvey of Crawfordsville and Jack of Frankfort; a half-brother, Kenneth Hudson of Lebanon; two sisters, Hazel McCormick of Crawfordsville, and Helen Perkins of Lebanon; and three step-sisters, Hattie Booher of Indianapolis, Myrtle Jessup of Westport and Inez Fruits of Florida. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlotte HoTopp Zachary officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Sunday. – jlr
