Newtown, June 20 - Harry F. Leighty, 65, died at his home in Indianapolis Tuesday night, following a brief illness. Cause of his death was a brain tumor. Mr. Leighty was born Jan. 16, 1880, near Mellott, the son of James and Lily Leighty. He was married to Almeda Slusser, who died in 1934; and later married Anna Reno in June, 1939. Survivors include a brother, Carl Leighty, Hillsboro, James Leighty, who lives in California; and three sisters, Mrs. Lula Aughe and Mrs. Elizabeth Rice, both of Frankfort, and Mrs. Carrie Wood, Lafayette, as well as five daughters, one son, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral will be at the Roscoe Conkle funeral home in Indianapolis at one o'clock Friday afternoon. Burial will be at the Baptist cemetery near Newtown at three o'clock Friday afternoon.
