VEEDERSBURG — Everett Leighty, 76-year-old retired farmer, died early Wednesday morning in Veterans Hospital at Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient the past four years. He was born June 22, 1889, on a farm north of Veedersburg, a son of Samuel and Rose Plunkett Leighty. Mr. Leighty, who never married, was an army veteran of World War I. He had been a patient at the Soldiers Home at Lafayette before being transferred to Danville. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Claude Stucker and two nephews and one niece. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday here at Fishero Funeral Home with Rev. Conley Rowland officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery near Veedersburg. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday here at the funeral home.  -- typed by Walt W
